The
story starts when The Bikerni's decided to give the responsibility of
the August Over Nighter ride to my lady - Captain M ( her name is
Minakshi but Ultra
Cool Freek of Nature named
her Captain M and I like the name very much ).
Ohh
sorry !!! Let me introduce myself I am Arron
- The RE Classic 500. My
lady Captain M have been taking me to so many beautiful places,
letting me run at my highest of speeds and giving me unbelievable
experiences that I thought of starting a Diary of my own, it might
sound weird to many as I am just a bike.
So
the story starts when Captain M gets to do the Aug Over-nighter,
after scratching her head and going over many options with lots of
doubts in her heart she agrees to go to Malnad
Region, known
for its monsoon scenic beauty. The core as they call themselves at
Bikerni came up with such beautiful suggestions and the destination
was decided and Captain M zeroed in on Devangi
Atithya Homestay for
the Girls and their mean machines to rest. The announcements were
made and a pretty lady Lakshmi with her enthusiasm agreed to
volunteer for the coordination as my lady was too spanned out at
work. Lakshmi did a fantastic job at that cuz at the end there
were 10 bikes riding together and I made so many friends.
The
route plan and pit stop planning was handed over to Rado and Sam and
they did a fantastic work and thanks to them my headlight saw a very
beautiful scenic route. Rado got late due to some reason (though her
Gixer got her safely to us later) Sam briefed us on the route.
The
week before the ride is always an exciting one for me as Captain M
gives me for a service and checks out smallest of my problems but
this time my power house Battery decided to act funny Captain M gave
it for charging and I was roaring again, only to give my lady
momentary triumph but she decided to take me anyway (she is the only
who can handle me when I throw tantrums). She fuelled me up the night
before and I was all set to hit the roads.
I
am excited beyond belief ..... yeah baby I am gonna be riding
highways again. I was eagerly waiting for Captain M to come down and
saddle me up for the ride .....ride baby ride!!!
Finally
she came down at 3:30 am and I was roared to life, I met the rest of
the riders on the way to Parle G Toll and we met two surprises on the
way - 1) DJ with her Thunderbird showed up surprising all present
there. 2) We had Arti, she joined The Bengaluru Bikernis to cover our
ride and she promised to write all the good stuff she writes for
Madras Motorcycles.
We
re-group at Parle G and the girls hug n makes some noise, but also
get the news that Rado will not be riding with us she will start late
so Sam takes over the duty and explains the route and Sapna comes
ahead to help. Captain M decides the order of ride as she is the ride
captain. She will lead with Sam right behind her with experienced
Sapna with her gorgeous machine at the back as sweep. DJ decided she
wants to just relax and ride but that never is the case when she
rides with The Bikerni so she agrees to Marshal.
We
take the Nelmangala diversion to Bangalore-Mangalore highway then
take a short break for the girls to have breakfast then ride on the
route at CRPatna we realize we need to take a diversion to right and
we are clueless then Sapna points out we are on the right track and
we ride ahead and take the next right diversion by that time girls
already cursing Captain M for not stopping for breaks.
In
all this the girls started realising how beautiful the roads are, the
girls decide to stop at a CCD post Arsikere. The route was so
beautiful and when we reach there DJ announces she just lost the keys
to her two boxes Zeplin & Joplin, after enquiries we decided we
stop at Shimoga for the keys finish lunch and head to Agumbe for the
sunset. The entire way it would rain in bits and pieces the girls
were all prepared to ride in rain and we would ride a km or two the
rain would fade away, that was funny though.
Shimoga
was a crowded city and we split to get the task at hand done DJ and
Sapna set out to get a locksmith, Sam and Divya started their hunt
for party stuff and the rest goes our way to find food. Zazz n Shagun
finds a place call Ocean Pearl and the food was superb. The girls hogged
like there will be no food tomorrow...... he he he people around us
were giving the girls hard stares as how much can 10-11 women eat. The amount of
food ordered was not funny and deffinitely not normal.................... LOL
All
work done fully fed we start again to Tirthahalli to go to Agumbe, DJ
takes over as the lead as Captain M kept getting work calls, then
something magical happened as we entered the forest area narrow road
but so pretty my headlight went brighter there are no words to
describe the beauty of the place. We click some pics we bikes get a
good photo shoot and the girls gets lost in the natural beauty. I
wanted to stay there for longer but had to give in to my lady's
command. We reach Tirthahalli the girls fuel us up and there the
girls decide it’s late and they are tired. 400 plus kms were so
breath taking that missing out other attraction was ok.
We
reach Devangi Atithya only to find out Arti and her Himalayan shot up
Sapna and her baby got her back and then we realised DJ and the fast
riders shot up the pretty roads too and once again Sapna had to chase
them and got them back. The Homestay was nice and we get parked, the
girls take our their stuff freshen up have tea n coffee and a great
fire was lit but Captain M got worried as Rado was to reach the
homestay by then but she is nowhere to be reached but the brave rider
n her Cute Gixxer reached finally and Captain M heaved a sigh of
relief and I go off to sleep………PHEW !!!
In
my sleep I could hear the girls have a good time with campfire, good
food, music and dancing. We will start early I heard them say but I
have my doubts…….. he he he
Morning
came and slowly the girls woke up and Captain M came and cleaned me
and went back in to get ready till then my battery was only giving a
bit of trouble but that fine day it decided to finally give up on me,
that was kind of embracing but I knew Captain M is there I need not
worry she can handle my ups and downs very well, and that’s what
she did after wrapping up with billings, breakfast and saddling up
she kick started me in no time. I felt alive and kicking once again……
this incident reminded me the JK Ride, due to heavy rain my silencer
had a crack and the speedometer stopped working, because of that I
was a making a horrendous farting noise (suddenly I want to sound
British…… lol ) and she turned the world up side down to get me
fixed and Thiri ma’am was the biggest help. Thank you Thiri ma’am
for going out of the way to help me.
I
don’t know we take lot of pictures while on a ride but the girls
seemed to miss Rosh and her baby Avie (pretty red avenger) as she
kindda takes out time from the schedule to take awesome pics, I heard
DJ and Captain M saying that………… I overhear things a lot.
Finally
we say good byes to the lovely homestay and decide to at least visit
Kavishaila 7 kms from the homestay. We take pics again and Captain M
does an exclusive photo shoot for me ……. He he he
We
finish Kavishaila and start back home Candida and Sapna decided that
they need to split as they had to reach home early; they took the
Chitradurga route, so we say our good byes and the rest of us set out
the way we started but something or the other kept happening and it
was almost mid-afternoon by the time we reached Shimoga, We park
ourselves again in front of the Ocean Pearl while the girls had some
food. I realise we get so many onlookers just because our owners are
women. Ahh well ……….. I know Captain M does not get bothered
with it but it’s just bone tickling funny. We all embark again on
our journey home and with a bit of coordination from everybody we
rode faster harder and safer and reached Bangalore by night.
Goodbyes
were said and with good memories we all reach our destinations safe
and happy and I kept thinking how lucky I am to have found such a
group and to have a life like this. Universe works in strangest
possible ways Captain M was to organise the December ride but post JK
ride she wanted to do a monsoon ride but August was Reena’s turn.
What to do was the question she put it up on core and found out Reena
can’t do August ride so she swapped it with Reena. Thank you Reena
for doing this as this was one route me n Captain M wanted to do for
a very long time.
My
list of Thank youz is long but sincerely thank you god for
everything!!!!!
I
am going that exact same route again the following week but this time
Captain M has Miss Sheela to keep me company she is an RE
thunderbird -350, 2010 model (older chick for me) ……… but well
that’s a story for next time .
Please
let me know how I can improve my writing as I am new to this but I am
just a bike ………. Ahh well …… Adios Amigos until next time.
